Relics stolen from Resita church

The spokesperson for the Caras-Severin Police, Ancuta Carbunaru, told Mediafax that the police had initiated an investigation after unidentified individuals had broken into the “Sf. Iosif cel Nou” Church in Resita, breaking the glass tabernacle and stealing Saint Joseph the New of Partos’s relics. According to the latter, the theft was reported by the church at the end of last week, but the police have yet to establish when the relics were stolen. The relics, donated by the Metropolitan See of Banat, had been in the church for about four years.
