Cultural offensive in Italy

The budgets of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MCPN), the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MDRT), the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports (MECTS), of the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) and  the General Secretariat of Government (SGG) have been supplemented by over 11 M euro from the Government’s Reserve Fund with a view to the celebration in 2012 of the “Year of Romanian Culture in Italy”, under a draft bill.

Mediafax quoted the substantiation note for the document saying that the programme is aimed at “making various categories of the Italian public aware of ) the history, culture and arts of the Romanian people through cultural offensive an unprecedented in the Romania of the past 22 years”. The campaign will run in various Italian cities, including Rome, Milan and Turin, and will consist of exhibitions, concerts, folkloric and dance performances , as well as a mass-media promotional campaign by means of street posters.
