President recalls ambassador from Italy

President Traian Basescu on Wednesday signed a decree that recalls Razvan-Victor Rusu from the position of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Romania in Italy, Malta and San Marino.

The president recently criticised the diplomat, saying that he saw on TV that Rusu did not attend a show that brought together 7,000 Romanians on the National Day, in Rome. In 2007, Razvan Rusu was decorated by President Traian Basescu with the ‘Diplomatic Merit’ Order, for his activity with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
