Writer Mariana Sora dies in Munich, at age 94

Mariana Sora, author of several volumes of essays, memoirs, literary criticism and novels, died in Munich on Monday, She was 94 years old, Mediafax quoted a press release as saying. “Mon Coeur mis a nu” (“Soul in hand”), this would be the right wording for Mariana Sora’s entire body of work, the release states.

Mariana Sora was born in Budapest in 1917, and, in 1919, her family settled in Timisoara. In 1939, she married Mihail Sora. Between1939-1945, she received a scholarship from the French Government. She has lived in Munich since 1978.
