Over 30,000 law enforcement officers will work during winter holidays

Over 30,000 policemen, gendarmes, border police officers and firefighters will enforce the law these winter holidays, by participating in actions that aim at maintaining public order, fluidising road traffic and preventing fires, the Ministry of Administration and Interior (MAI) announced yesterday. Public order squads will operate to prevent street crime in crowded areas and in the places where products specific to winter holidays are sold (fairs, markets etc.). Traffic police will supplement the number of officers that patrol trains, stations and public transportation vehicles, in order to prevent robberies. To avoid crowding on the border, the personnel will be supplemented and the number of checkpoints will be increased if necessary.
