Social-Democrat MP, deferred to justice

MP Marian Ghiveciu – Catalin Predoiu’s opposing candidate in the 2008 elections for a seat in the Lower Chamber – was deferred to justice by National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors on charges of abuse in office against public interest with a view of securing material gain for another party.

Marian Ghiveciu, acting as the manager of several trading companies at the time when the deed occurred, is now a Social-Democratic Party (PSD) deputy in the Romanian Parliament and stands charged with qualified instigation to abuse in office against public interest with a view to securing material gain for another party.
