Handball: Luminita Hutupan Dinu returns to Oltchim

Goalie Luminita Hutupan Dinu (40), three times winner of the Champions League with Krim Ljubljana (2001, 2003) and Kometal Skopje (2002), has returned to the club for the first time since 2009. In 2009 Hutupan became a mother and had to retire.

According to, Oltchim manager Constantin Roibu was the one that persuaded Luminita to return at a time when the national handball team suffers from a lack of good goalies. “I’m not saying that if I return Oltchim won’t lose any other game. I have a lot of work to do, I haven’t played in two years and this will probably show. However, I badly want to help out the team and I’ll do everything possible to succeed,” Luminita Hutupan Dinu stated for

Luminita Hutupan won the Champions League (in 2001, 2002 and 2003) and countless individual titles (best goalkeeper at the European Championships in 2000 and at the World Championship in 2005).
