One man was killed and four more injured in a clash between two Roma groups at Barbulesti, Ialomita County, in which a few bullets too were fired and more than 50 gendarmes and police were deployed at the scene. Early investigations conducted by prosecutors at the Prosecutor’s Office of the Ialomita Tribunal show the incident was sparked by a street brawl between children belonging to the two groups, which then degenerated into a clash between their parents. Mediafax quoted investigative sources saying the dead man was shot in the head. Investigators found a hunting rifle at the back of the local school, which is being examined to see whether it had been used in the conflict. The police also identified a chief suspect, who was remanded in custody for 29 days, along with eight more people involved in the conflict. The suspect was admitted to the Slobozia hospital under guard yesterday for several pellet wounds in his right arm, doctors said.
