“La Boheme” at ONB

“La Boheme”, Giacomo Puccini’s opera in four acts, can be seen on Sunday from 7pm at the Bucharest National Opera (ONB). The scene is set in Paris, on Christmas Eve. From the window of his attic, the poet Rodolfo gazes pensively at the snowy Paris roofs while his friend, Marcello, is painting. Shivering, Rodolfo decides to burn down the manuscript he was working on to keep the fire burning. The philosopher Colline, their friend, comes along. They are soon joined by the musician Schaunard, who brings along a basket of food, wine and firewood, telling his friends about the ruse through which he managed to obtain a considerable sum of money from a rich Englishman. The cast includes Hector Lopez, Tina Munteanu, Felicia Filip, Vicentiu Taranu, Ionut Gavrila, Mihnea Lamatic, Paul Basacopol, Stefan Schuller, Adrian Ionescu, Constantin Negru.

Directed by: Ionel Pantea; Conductor: Vlad Conta
