Mediafax reports that about 30 Bessarabian students protested in front of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bucharest yesterday demanding the punishment of the Russian soldier who killed a Moldovan young man on January 1, the withdrawal of the Russian army from Transdniester and the dismissal of Ambassador Valerii Kuzmin. Protesters displayed placards reading “We Don’t Want Pacificators and Criminals”, “We Want Kuzmin’s apologies” The Criminals must stand trial”, “Russian army, go home” and chanted “Russian Army, out”. One of the student protesters had “Shut me, I am from Moldova” written on his chest. The Bessarabian students condemn the “murder committed by pacificators” in the Transdniester region and call for “legal consequences being applied” to their authors. They also demand that “all the Russian pacificator positions be cancelled in the Transdniester region”.
