The ministers of Development, Economy, Interior and the head of SGG will become state ministers and, together with the Premier, will form the Prime Minister’s Council, which will coordinate the activity of other ministries, while the position of deputy prime minister will disappear, under a new draft law initiated by PDL Senator Sorin Fodoreanu. The new regulation proposes a new structure of the government, without the position of deputy prime minister, but with four state ministers. The present structure of the Cabinet will also change, as the ministry of Regional Development and Tourism will be replaced by the ministry of National Development and the ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth, while Communications will merge with Transportation. The portfolios of Agriculture and Labour will no longer exist in the new Cabinet, being replaced by the Ministry of Health, Food and Social Protection. PDL’s spokesperson Sever Voinescu said that the draft law is a ‘personal’ initiative of Fodoreanu and doesn’t have the party’s endorsement.
