Meteorologists warn that blizzards will be registered in mountainous regions from 8 AM on Friday, January 13, to 8 PM on Saturday, January 14. Wind gusts could reach a speed of 90 kilometres per hour. “Blizzards will be registered in mountainous regions, at first in the Eastern and Western Carpathians and then in the Carpathian Alps, with wind gusts set to surpass 80-90 kilometres per hour. Wind speed hikes will be registered in other parts of the country too, particularly in southern regions where wind speeds could reach 55-60 kilometres per hour,” the notification posted on the National Meteorological Administration website reads.
