“Dinner with Friends” and “The Little Golden Calf” are two of the productions due to open at ArCuB at the end of January, a release by the Bucharest institution informs. Productions of “Dinner with Friends” (based on Donald Margulies’s 2000 Pulitzer-winning play) were performed in Paris, London, Berlin, Vienna, Stockholm, Tokyo, Mumbai, Seoul, Tel Aviv and Istanbul. Furthermore, Margulies’s play was the starting-point for a 2000 Emmy-nominated HBO adaptation. Claudiu Goga’s production opens on February 4.
The play “The Little Golden Calf” is the dramatic adaptation of one of the funniest books of the 20th century. “The Little Golden Calf”, written by the beloved literary duo Ilf and Petrov, depicts one of the adventures involving the highly-likable fraud Ostap Bender in the Soviet Union in the 1920s.
The production “The Goat and Her Three Kids – A Study in Gastronomy”, directed by Alexandru Dabija, based on Ion Creanga’s famous tale, opens on Wednesday at the Act Theatre.
