Police threatens with protests in turn

The police trade unions threaten to stage their own protest unless the Interior Minister Traian Igas grants them this week a meeting to address the police’s wage and labour conditions-related problems. Police representatives call for the payment of arrears on their wages and equipment expenses, the granting of the confidentiality bonus for 2009 graduates, the inclusion of college-educated police agents in pay grades according to their level of education, the deduction of the trade union dues on the payroll and off the income tax, according to a memorandum forwarded by the “Pro Lex” union to the minister.
