Romgaz CEO submits resignation

The CEO of natural gas producer company Romgaz Medias, Marcel Piteiu asked the Minister of Economy, Ion Ariton to approve his request to be put on suspension while he is probed by the Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation Department (DIICOT) in a case where he is suspect of undermining the national economy and being involved in a plot, a press release informs. The minister approved Wednesday the request of suspending him from the positions of CEO and manager of Romgaz Medias. An interim CEO will be appointed these days. Piteiu belongs to a group of 40 suspects probed by DIICOT for plotting against, and undermining the national economy.
