Hotels and boarding houses will be forced to sign up for a tourism database that would allow authorities to find out at any moment who is accommodated where. According to a draft government decision, Mediafax informs, failure to do so would result in a fine of up to RON 20,000. Thus, economic operators that own or administer tourist accommodation units are forced to sign up for the Integrated Tourism Database System (SIET) within 90 days after the draft comes into force. The database will allow the compiling of reports on the occupancy rate at individual unit, regional and national level.
