Agriculture Minister Valeriu Tabara told a press conference in Timisoara, on Monday, that in Romania ‘there is absolutely no problem with a so-called food crisis’, adding that such crisis would only become possible if people somehow forgot to seed, Mediafax reports. ‘The certain date when we can make a forecast is April 1, because then can we give an accurate account of the content of water in the soil’, Tabara said. He further noted that, in his opinion, after the previous year’s record production, Romania’s change would be to continue to be a player on the international market. ‘The problem is different: to continue to be a player on the international market. Romania can be the third biggest player after Russia and Ukraine’, Tabara said.
