Jose Carreras in Bucharest concert on May 25

The tenor Jose Carreras will be back to Romania for a concert at Bucharest’s Palace Hall on May 25, from 8pm, according to a release quoted by Mediafax. The celebrated tenor promises us a grand concert, spiced up with the finest arias in his repertoire, “La Donna e Mobile” and “Nessun Dorma” included.

The 75-year-old artist’s career included over 60 parts in productions staged in the world’s most prestigious opera halls, as well as recordings alongside great artists associated with other musical genres. The tenor proved an indomitable will, winning his battle against leukaemia, and subsequently founded, in 1988, the “Jose Carreras” International Leukaemia Foundation.

Tickets for the concert, priced RON 200 and 1,000, will be available as of January 30 in the Biletoo Shop (Unirea Shopping Center), “Adevarul” bookshops, Diverta and Flanco shops, the Palace Hall, the Victoria and Muzica shop, the National Children’s Palace, the Unirii 1 Metro Station, as well as online on biletoo.ro, blt.ro, bilet.ro and myticket.ro. The concert is organized by Project Events in collaboration with European Event Service.

Jose Carreras was present in Romania on several occasions, offering concerts at the Palace Hall and at Timisoara’s Youth Lido in 2008. In the summer of 2007 he took part in a charity gala organized in Bucharest and in 2000 he offered a concert at the Romanian Athenaeum.
