More money for UDMR

The Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), one of the main members of the ruling coalition, will receive this year too the largest share of the total funds earmarked for the Department of Interethnic Relations. The financial support is however much larger than the sums approved early last year. Of the total of RON 79.2 M, UDMR will receive RON 17.1 M (compared to RON 15.98 M in 2011), the ‘Pro-Europa’ Roma Association will receive RON 11.1 (compared to RON 10.3 M), and the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania will receive RON 6.2 M (compared to RON 5.7 M). The money will be used by the aforementioned organization to pay their rent, cover personnel costs, initiate cultural actions, make investments in mobile and immobile goods and co-finance EU programmes.
