Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can benefit this year from a total RON 116 M via eight programmes run by the Agency for the Implementation of Projects and Programmes for SMEs (AIPPIMM). The largest share of the sum, RON 70 M, was allotted to the Kogalniceanu Programme. According to a release by AIPPIMM, the funds allotted this year to the implementation of national programmes for SMEs are 60 pc above 2011 levels, a rise due mainly to the supplementation of funds allotted to the Kogalniceanu Programme, from RON 24 M in 2011 to RON 70 M in 2012. AIPPIMM representatives estimate that the budget allotted this year for the Kogalniceanu Programme, via which SMEs can take subsidized loans, could provide assistance to approx. 12,000 small and medium-sized enterprises.
