President Traian Basescu has appointed Claudia-Elena Ionas head of the Presidency’s Public Communications Department and Presidential spokesperson, following the resignation of Valeriu Turcan. Turcanu had been Presidential advisor on Public Communication and Presidential spokesperson since April 2007. Prior to this appointment, Claudia-Elena Ionas (26) worked for the Presidential Administration for 4 years, being an advisor within the Public Communications Department. A graduate of the Political Science Faculty of SNSPA, she has a BA in Sociology and a MA in Governance and Society.
