Dan Suciu at law with Gov’t

Government spokesman Dan Suciu yesterday said he would continue the legal action against authorities over the retroactive payment of Value Added Tax (VAT) on incoming revenues, despite his now representing the Executive. Last year, several journalists and artists filed a joint lawsuit against the Romanian state over the decision by the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) to launch financial inspection proceedings towards retroactive payment of VAT on incoming revenues. The authorities involved in the trial include Government, the Ministry of Finance and the ANAF. Dan Suciu, a former economic program producer on the Money Channel, is a plaintiff in the trial.  “I see my being involved in this trial as a novel situation, I hope we’ll win the trial and then I will have the pleasure to present you with the conclusions resulting from potential legislative amendments,” Suciu said, adding he just made a ”joke”.
