Readings, concerts, film screenings at Independent 84 Days

A reading from the “Legende Urbane” collection, film screenings, video art installations and public lectures, these are some of the events on offer during the Independent 84 Days, taking place Friday to Sunday, at the Independent 84 centre in Bucharest.The Friday programme will include a concert by Luiza Zan, Jimmy Cherkez & Florin Ramascu – for the first time in this line-up, a screening of the documentary “Three Divine Sparks” by Antonela Vulpe, and Electric Vibes – a musical presentation by Sabin. On Saturday we are invited to the “Infloritor” recycling workshop. Also featured on Saturday’s programme are a video installation by Daniela Palimariu & Dan Basu, followed by a Fierbinteanu & Friends Live Independent jam session, from 7.30pm, a selection of shorts directed by fresh graduates of the National University of Theatrical and Cinematic Art (UNATC), from 9 pm, and the theatrical production “Cristina and I” – a horror comedy set in Bucharest.The Sunday selection will kick off with a contemporary art workshop, followed from 7pm by the play “Ich Clown”, by Vera Ion, a Loungerie II jazzy punk & lounge concert, a new selection of films signed by UNATC students and P. Groove music – by Jay – “Music from the ‘70s Adult Cinema”.Independent 84 presents itself as a vibrant venue of the now, hosting various cultural events, ranging from visual to performance arts.
