Murfatlar wines win medals at Berlin and Chisinau festivals

Murfatlar Romania won 15 medals this February, in two international contests – Berliner Wine Trophy 2012 and Chisinau Wine&Spirits 2012 – reads a press release. Muscat Ottonel Zestrea Murfatlar 2011 and Muscat Ottonel M1 2011 won gold at the Berliner Wine Trophy, an event organised under the patronage of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) which is among the most famous wine contests of the world. During the same contest, Cramposie M1 2011 and Feteasca Regala M1 2011 were awarded silver medals. The jury of the German contest also rewarded with gold two licorous wines – Lacrima lui Ovidiu 5 red and Lacrima lui Ovidiu 12 – and with silver the Chardonnay ‘Late Harvest’ 2006. The jury of the 21st edition of Chisinau Wine&Spirits had to choose among 280 samples from 14 countries, and awarded eight medals to Murfatlar Romania: gold for Lacrima lui Ovidiu 12 and Chardonnay ‘Late Harvest 2006,’ silver for Feteasca Neagra 3Hectare 2011 and Sable Noble 3Hectare Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, and bronze for Chardonnay 3Hectare 2011, Sable Noble 3Hectare 2011 white coupage 2011, Muscat Ottonel M1 2011 and Cabernet Sauvignon 3Hectare 2011.
