Oltchim players’ salaries cut by half

Oltchim Rm. Valcea’s handball players were sanctioned by having their salaries cut by half because of the poor results registered in their last two Champions League games, realitatea.net informs. Oltchim lost its home game against Buducnost (23-34) and finished its game against Metz in a tie (26-26). Oltchim President Petre Berbecaru announced the decision. “It was decided to cut the players’ and coaches’ salaries by 50 per cent starting on February 1 because of the latest results. There is the possibility of paying the full salaries provided the goal set by the club will be reached,” Petre Berbecaru stated. Oltchim’s goal this season is to qualify for the Champions League final. Oltchim can qualify for the semifinals if it will obtain at least a tie in its game against Krim Ljubljana on Sunday.
