Dacia returns to the UK market

The Dacia brand of automobiles will return to the United Kingdom at the beginning of next year, but now its models will be very different from those sold in the 1980’s, capital.ro reports. Approximately 30 years after the Aro 10 model, Dacia will return to the British market with its Duster SUV and Sandero hatchback. The two models will have the steering wheel on the right side and will be produced at the Renault Nissan Alliance plant of Chennai, India. For now, it has not been decided yet whether to add the compact MPV Lodgy to the range of models sold in the United Kingdom, because so far it is only available in the version with left-side steering wheel. According to the Global Development Manager of the Dacia brand, Rafael Treguer, British car dealers already saw the Dacia models that will be put on sale in the UK, and had a positive reaction. Dacia vehicles will be available through the Renault UK network and, possibly, via internet – a method only tested in Italy and the Netherlands so far.
