‘All My Sons’ by Arthur Miller returns at the National Theatre

‘All My Sons,’ the theatrical play that sent Arthur Miller to the spotlight of the American public and critics, and brought him the first Tony award of his career, will return at the Grand Hall of the National Theatre of Bucharest on Thursday, 15 March 2012, at 7.00 PM. This is a rerun of a show that enjoyed much success with the public of Bucharest, performed more than 50 times over two seasons. Inspired by a real fact reported by a newspaper, the thrillingly actual American drama tells the story of a big industrialist which got rich right after the Second World War, when he stopped at nothing because of a hurried decision he made. A decision taken during the war years has tragic consequences for the entire family, three years and a half later.The cast includes Victor Rebengiuc, Sanda Toma, Dragos Stemate, Dorin Andone, Costina Ciuciulica, Irina Cojar, Vivian Alivizache-Victoria Dicu, Ioan Andrei-Ionescu, Gavril Patru. ‘All My Sons’ returns at the National Theatre more than half a century after its first staging in Romania, in 1948. The cast of those years included Aura Buzescu as Katty Keller, and Liviu Ciulei as scenographer.
