Ad Libitum, one of the leading string quartets of Romania, will hold a concert on March 24 at the Peles Castle, as part of the 2nd edition of the ‘Sound of the Music’ season, Radio Romania reports. The programme proposed by the four musicians – Alexandru Tomescu, Serban Mereuta, Bogdan Bisco and Filip Papa – includes: Quartettsatz by Franz Schubert, the Quartet in A major K 645 – “of the dissonances” – by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the Quartet op. 18 no. 4 in A minor by Ludwig van Beethoven. After a first season much appreciated by music fans, this year the Peles Castle will host, by November 17, 10 concerts featuring attractive programmes and major names of the Romanian musical stage: Icon Arts Ensemble, conducted by Gabriel Bebeselea, Bourbon Jazz Unit, the Arcadia and Eufonia Quartets, the Atris and Aperto duos, pianist Daria Ioana Tudor, and Japanese violinist Ishigami Mayuko.Access is allowed based on invitations that can be procured from the Peles National Museum, phone 0244310 918, extension 129 – section Public Relations, or by filling a form online at http://peles.ro.
