Bercea Mondial sentenced to jail for two years

The Olt Tribunal on Tuesday sentenced Sandu Anghel, a.k.a. Bercea Mondial, to two years in prison on charges of tax evasion and money laundering. Judges also ruled that Bercea shall pay a RON 2,000 fine on four counts of tax evasion. The verdict is challengeable in the Craiova Court of Appeal. Late last February, Bercea Mondia was handed down a seven and a half years sentence over a case file wherein he was charged with stabbing his nephew. Romania’s president’s brother was the godfather of Bercea’s niece two years ago in a christening ceremony held in a district church in Constanta.
