Childhood museum at MTR

The European project ‘Childhood. Remains and Heritage,’ coordinated by the Romanian Peasant’s Museum, offers a unique opportunity of witnessing and participating with ideas, objects and stories in the creation of a virtual museum dedicated to childhood. The project starts with the opening of the first future hall of the museum, named ‘Appearance. From spirits to the Spirit.’ From magical practices of welcoming and dedication to the ceremony of baptism, from the rural equivalent of the baby bottle to the few ancient records about urban christening ceremonies, the exhibition will surely attract both children (who will also enjoy a surprise workshop) and grown-ups.The exhibition is open until April 15, from Tuesdays to Sundays, between 10.00 AM and 6.00 PM, in a free-entry regime. Co-organisers: the Romanian Peasant’s Museum, Artees, the Lebork Museum, the Romanian Cultural Institute. Partner: the Romanian Ministry of Culture and Patrimony, Mercury 360.
