Susanne Kastner receives National Order with Grand Officer rank

Lazar Comanescu, Romania’s Ambassador to Germany, has handed over to Susanne Kastner, Chairwoman of the German-Romanian Parliamentary Friendship Group, the National Order with Grand Officer rank, as a sign of appreciation for the devotion shown for several years in Romania. According to a communiqué issued by the German MP and quoted by Mediafax, the proposal came from Prime Minister Emil Boc in December 2011. The ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Romanian Embassy in Berlin. Susanne Kastner was given the award as a sign of appreciation for her constant contribution to developing bilateral political relations, for the support she gave Romania in her European and Euro-Atlantic bids and for her active involvement in numerous social and humanitarian projects. “The National Order with Grand Officer rank received from Romania is for me a symbol of recognition for my work. It also represents a motivation for me to continue to engage myself as a friend of Romania,” Kastner stated.
