The two sides agreed that they will work together to promote opportunities in Romania to British business and to improve Romania’s image abroad.Lord Green accepted the proposal of the Minister of Finance to organize, in London in the coming months, a meeting with British companies and investors interested in information about Romania. Also yesterday, Lord Green met Lucian Bode, Minister of Economy, the two officials appreciated the progress of bilateral exchanges in 2011, amounting EUR 3 billion.On his first visit to Romania, Lord Green, the British Minister for Trade and Investment had a meeting Wednesday with Inaki Berroeta, CEO Vodafone Romania. “I am impressed by Vodafone’s commitment to making long-term investments in this market,” Lord Green said at the conclusion of his visit to the Vodafone head offices. Romania’s advantages include skilled labour, a privileged geostrategic position, and a foreseeable and transparent business environment, which are important arguments in the eyes of foreign investors, the British official added. Vodafone is the largest British investment in Romania, with a total sum of EUR 2.8 bln invested over the last 15 years.
