New car registrations advanced by 54 pc in the first two months of the year against the similar interval of 2011, to more than 9,000 units – the most significant growth in the EU, as percentage, while the European market declined by 8.3 pc, according to data released yesterday by automaker companies, quoted by Mediafax. Thus, the number of new automobiles registered in Romania soared in January and February from 5,886 to 9,063, with a 27.4 pc advance in February alone, from 3,238 to 4,126 units, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) announces in a press release, based on figures released by the Driving License and Vehicle Registration Department (DRPCIV). In a top of brands, Dacia registrations in Romania increased by 9.81 pc in February, to 996 new units, while Skoda registered and advance of 23.04 pc, to 470 cars. Volkswagen reported an increase of 36.25 pc, to 436 vehicles, Ford went up by 50.22 pc to 347 automobiles and Renault gained 24.38 pc, up to 250 units
