‘Crulic – The Path to Beyond’ – Grand Prix of the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN) for 2011

The film ‘Crulic – The Path to Beyond’ by Anca Damian received the Grand Prix and the Trophy of the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN) for 2011, in a gala held Saturday evening at Cinema Studio of Bucharest.The Special award of the jury went to ‘Best Intentions’ by Adrian Sitaru, while the Best Director award was granted to Constantin Popescu for Principles of Life.’Director Bogdan George Apetri won the Opera Prima award for ‘Outbound,’ and the ‘Young Hope’ award went to actors Corneliu Ulici and Dragos Dumitru for their roles in ‘Something Good Out of Life.’Ana Ularu received the Best Actress award for her role in ‘Outbound’ by Bogdan Apetri, while Vlad Ivanov and Bogdan Dumitrache shared the Best Actor award for their roles in ‘Principles of Life’ and, respectively, ‘Best Intentions.’Radu Gabrea received the prize for his documentary named ‘And they went like the wind…,’ and the award for TV film went to ‘The happy sadness of Visky Andras’ by Jon Gostin.In the short films category, the first special prize of the jury went to ‘Corpus’ (scenarist and director Laurentiu Damian), the Fiction Film trophy was granted to ‘Bora-Bora’ (scenarist and director Bogdan Mirica), and the Best Documentary prize was awarded ex-aequo to ‘Verite Theatre’ (scenarist and director Ruxandra Tuchel) and ‘Culture behind bars’ (scenarist and director Roxana Chirita).The ‘Mihnea Gheorghiu’ Academic Award for cinematographic art was offered to Ion Besoiu.
