The Bucharest Floreasca Leisure Complex burned in a proportion of 50 per cent Saturday night, over 100 fire-fighters working to put out the flames that had already gripped the roof of the building in the swimming pool, gym and restaurant area, according to Mediafax. The administration offices and other leisure facilities were not affected. ‘The rooms accommodating the gym and the pool burned. No people required the assistance of first aid staff,’ Bucharest Emergency Rescue Inspectorate (ISU) says. The 106 fire-fighters intervened with 16 fire engines using water and foam, but their work was made difficult by the quite narrow paths leading to the building.
