Show on the occasion of the National Day of Greece

A show of contemporary dance, music, theatre and poetry, will be organised under the name ‘The Free Besieged’ – inspired by the homonymous poem of Greece’s national poet Dionysios Solomonos – by the Greek Cultural Foundation, on the occasion of the National Day of Greece. The event, held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic in Bucharest with support from the Hellenic Union of Romania, will be organised on March 26 and 27 at the Rapsodia Hall of the Lipscani Theatre. The art conception and choreography are signed by Greek choreographer Amalia Strinopoulou. The show will feature the Romanian dance group ‘Vertige’ and Afroditi Ioannidou, an actress of the State Theatre of Northern Greece. Important fragments of the poem will be recited in Romanian by two members of the Vertige group – Gina-Alina Patilea and Fineta-Grigorescu. Tickets can be purchased, at the price of RON 20, from the ticket desk of the Lipscani Theatre, and online at myticket.ro and bilete.ro.
