Dacia success confirmed in 2011, adapted to global economic situation

The car manufacturer was sales leader on the local market last year, with over 30,000 units sold. Dacia keeps its optimism for this year.

The crisis has put all businesses to the test, the auto sector trying to remain on a balanced line. Against the backdrop of an auto market that totalled 110,000 units sold in 2011, a market significantly affected by the economic crisis’s consequences on the clients’ purchasing power, Dacia’s sales on the Romanian market totalled 30,867 units, representing a market share of 28.9 per cent, the auto manufacturer’s representatives told Nine O’Clock. Thus, Dacia has maintained its position of market leader in Romania, its best-sold models being the Dacia Logan (15,830 units) and the Dacia Duster (7,252 units). Because 2011 represented a difficult year for all businesses, for this year Dacia stakes on the ‘Cash for Clunkers’ programme too, the programme meant to stimulate the renewal of the auto park. “Dacia sold a total of 970 units in January 2012, representing a market share of 25.5 per cent. Auto industry sales have a pace throughout the year, and the first month of the year is not among the best from this point of view. Moreover, given the difficult access to crediting, the Romanian auto market is very much influenced by the programme meant to stimulate the renewal of the auto park, by the programme’s evolution and the moment of its start. The ‘Cash for Clunkers’ programme is the more so important as most Dacia sales went to juridical persons in the first month of 2012. Decisive for the auto market’s evolution is also the number of tickets available on the market, and that number is dropping yearly,” Roxana Evanghelie, Dacia Renault Commercial Roumanie spokesperson, stated. The local auto market continues to remain extremely competitive, second-hand offers covering in their turn the needs of clients looking for advantageous offers. Dacia’s portfolio is living up to those expectations too and appears accessible. The ‘Dacia Avantaj’ commercial operation took place in February for certain versions of the Dacia Logan, MCV, Sandero, Van and Pick-Up models. The price cuts included in this promotion reached up to EUR 600 (VAT included) in the case of auto vehicles and up to EUR 200 (VAT included) in the case of utility vehicles. “Another ongoing promotion concerns a small list of vehicles produced in 2011. The price cuts range from EUR 500 to EUR 1,500 (VAT included), depending on the vehicle. The clients that want to find out more about this offer can contact the network of authorized Dacia dealers or can access the www.dacia.ro website. For the Dacia model we have a special offer during this period, offering the Pack Look optional tuning package for free. The package includes chrome glazed rear-view mirrors, chrome glazed front and rear spoilers, chrome glazed side skirts, 16-inch alloy wheels and tinted windows. Dacia Duster also benefits from a special financing offer available for both physical and juridical persons: Duster interest rate 0 per cent and promotional EUR-denominated financial leasing,” the Dacia Renault Commercial Roumanie spokesperson added.Likewise, on March 26-31, Dacia’s authorized network will feature the ‘Dacia Service Days’ promotional campaign. According to a press communiqué, all clients visiting the Dacia repair workshops during the campaign in order to buy and/or sell tires or for repairs of a minimum value of RON 50 (VAT included) will benefit from attractive offers and guaranteed prizes.
