PM Ungureanu: Partnership with US, also thanks to previous presidents and FMs

Premier Mihai Razvan Ungureanu said at the inauguration of the new headquarter of the American Embassy in Bucharest, yesterday, that, while the statement on the strategic partnership between Romania and the Unites States of America, adopted during President Basescu’s visit to Washington, had a single signatory, he nevertheless had to also thank former Presidents Iliescu and Constantinescu, as well as ex-foreign ministers who are ‘co-authors’. In his speech, Ungureanu emphasised that the Romania-USA strategic partnership goes beyond security matters and, in the context, he noted that the bilateral trade had reached USD 2.3 bn and American investment in Romania exceeded USD 900 M in 2011, Mediafax reports.
