Meeting marred by incidents

Several supporters were held Saturday after incidents at a Victoria Square meeting of Universitatea Craiova football team fans attended by 400 people. Gendarmerie spokesman Cosmin Pana said that early information referred to 15 people being taken to a police precinct for investigations. Fans of the Craiova-based team protested, along with Dinamo and Rapid fans, against Universitatea Craiova no longer being affiliated with the Romanian Football Association and the provisions of Law no 4 on prevention and crackdown of violence in stadiums. Nearly 100 of the supporters attending the meeting then went to University Square where they resumed their protest.
