Ambassadors to Denmark and Tunisia, accredited by the President

President Traian Basescu signed on Wednesday evening the decree to accredit Matei-Viorel Ardeleanu Romanian ambassador to Denmark, the Presidential Administration’s website informs. Prior to the appointment he was national coordinator of the European Union’s Strategy for the Danube Region, within the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE). Likewise, Ardeleanu is a career diplomat with the rank of minister-adviser and was previously Deputy of Romania’s Permanent Representation at the EU.  Also on Wednesday, Basescu signed the decree to accredit Nicolae Nastase Romanian ambassador to Tunisia. Nastase previously worked within the cabinet of former Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Baconschi, having the rank of first secretary since 2011. Nastase started working with the MAE in 2011, being first-collaborator at Romania’s Permanent Representation at the Council of Europe from August 2006 to February 2010.
