European Film Festival, in Bucharest May 4-13

The 16th European Film festival will be running in Bucharest, May 4-13, and until May 27, in four more Romanian cities. Film director Catalin Mitulescu is the honorary ambassador of the event and the presentation clip director. The Festival, which is organized with support from the embassies and cultural centres of European countries, will unfold in Bucharest (May 4-13), Brasov (May 10-13), Timisoara (May 17-20), Targu-Mures (May 17-20) and Iasi (May 24-27). Over 50 films from 26 countries will be shown at Cinema Studio and Eforie in Bucharest,.The band ‘Touluse Lautrec’ will open the festival on May 2 with a concert at Carturesti – Verona Garden. On May 12, the ArCuB Hall will be hosting the concert Tarkovsky Redux by Lucian Ban, Mat Maneri, Silent Strike and Dan Basu, a music- live video projection fusion to draw the curtain to draw the curtain on the festival.The festival will carry on across the country, with four days of films in Brasov (Reduta Cultural Centre), Timisoara (University Central Library), Targu-Mures (National Theatre) and Iasi (‘Mihai Ursachi’ House of Culture).
