Adrian Mutu could play in North America’s Major League Soccer championship, having already received an offer from Canada’s Montreal Impact. The club is offering Mutu an annual contract that could reach EUR 4.5 M. Montreal Impact is a newly promoted team owned by a family of Italian immigrants that want to create a veritable Serie A enclave in Quebec. Montreal Impact offers Mutu a contract of USD 500,000 per year, USD 50,000 per each game played (there are 50 games per season in the MLS and the CONCACAF Champions League), plus USD 1.5 M on signing the contract. Mutu was briefed by his former Parma teammate Matteo Ferrari. Mutu has a salary of EUR 1.8 M per season at Cesena. Football stars such as David Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls), Torsten Frings (FC Toronto) and Robbie Keane (Los Angeles Galaxy) are already playing in the MLS.
