Employees protest at the Constanta Seaports Administration

Hundreds of employees of the National Company ‘Constanta Seaports Administration’ (CNAPMC) went on sudden strike yesterday morning and blocked the gates of the company, demanding the resignation of manager Aurelian Andrei Popa, “an opaque man, brought here on other criteria than productivity increase,” Mediafax reports. The employees accuse the company manager of repeatedly infringing the collective labour contract and modifying the regulations of the company, with the approval of the Board of Administrators.  The protests in front of the CNAPMC HQ are going on for several weeks, although manager Aurelian Popa challenged them in court. Last week, magistrates ruled that the protests staged by employees are legal, allowing them to go on and picket the head office of CNAPMC each day.
