Vodafone Romania Foundation has new Board of Administrators

The Vodafone Romania Foundation announced yesterday, in a press conference, that it appointed a new Board of Administrators. The new team comprises: Princess Marina Sturdza – Honorary President; H.E. Martin Harris, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Romania – member; Condelina Kilikidis, Government Expert – member; Florina Tanase, Senior Director Regulatory, Legal and Corporate Affairs, Vodafone Romania – member; Andres Vicente, Chief Commercial Officer, Enterprise Business Unit, Vodafone Romania – member; Elena Serban, Vodafone Foundation Director – member, Lidia Solomon, Corporate Communications Manager, Vodafone Romania – member.The main attributions of the Board consist in selecting and implementing the non-governmental programmes and organisations, in line with the mission of the Vodafone Foundation – improving the life of Romanians, in compliance with the assumed directions: from acute social needs to volunteering, health and education programmes.According to Inaki Berroeta, CEO Vodafone Romania, during its 14 years of activity, the Foundation launched nearly 600 programmes in partnership with 400 non-profit organisations that operate in Romania. Until 2011, over EUR 13 M have been invested in social projects, and the value of projects conducted by the Vodafone Foundation this year exceeds EUR 2 M.The most important projects of the Foundation in 2012 are: building a new intensive care section for newborns at the Marie Curie Hospital; building homes in Brasov for underprivileged families; implementing the 3rd edition of the Professional Volunteer programme.
