Authorities must avoid the suspension of five operational programmes

Minister of European Affairs Leonard Orban said yesterday that authorities have until the end of the month to take decisions that will avoid the suspension of five operational programmes – the Sectoral Operational Programme (POS) Environment, the POS Transportation, the Regional Operational Programme (POR), the POS Increase of Economic Competitiveness (CCE) and the Sectoral Operational Programme Development of Human Resources (POSDRU), Mediafax reports. According to the minister, these are the programmes subject to preventive financial corrections. “But things evolve positively, the commitments we made are in an advanced stage of completion and we hope that the risk of suspension will be avoided,” the minister added. Asked to provide concrete information about the conditions that must be met within the operational programme on transportation, he mentioned “the segregation of certain positions inside the Management Authority (AM) with regard to verifying the correctness of public acquisitions, verifications of potential conflicts of interests and incompatibilities, and technical matters related to how the programme is going on, operates and the financial management is secured at structure level.”
