Gheorghe Stefan (PDL) favours congress after local elections

PDL vice-president Gheorghe Stefan said yesterday on PRO TV that the party should call a congress after the local elections, adding that now he would support Senate Speaker Vasile Blaga for party president. Asked if Emil Boc is still able to lead PDL after the elections, the Democrat-Liberal said that his popularity has eroded significantly and is now much lower than five years ago.If he gets elected for a new mandate of Piatra Neamt mayor, Stefan said he would resign after two years and a half, when President Traian Basescu will end his term in office. The PDL leader explained that he changed the campaign colour to green, because this is “the colour of the year.” According to the PDL vice-president, PM Mihai Razvan Ungureanu might be the future president of Romania, as he could run on behalf of an alliance of parties that will possibly include PDL as well.
