Mircea Dinescu and Jacqueline Bisset at sneak preview of Purcarete’s “Somewhere in Palilula”

Mircea Dinescu, Jacqueline Bisset and George Mihaita were among the attendees at the sneak preview of “Somewhere in Palilula”,  Silviu Purcarete’s debut as a film director, in Bucharest Wednesday evening, according to Mediafax. The event, attended by over1.000 people, was held at Turbohalle in Bucharest. A small exhibition containing elements from the impressing film setting was on display near the hall where the sneak preview was held.  Written and directed by Silviu Purcarete and produced by Libra Film, “Somewhere in Palilula” qualified for financing at the 2006 film script competition  organized by the National Center of Cinematography. The film is also part of the projection portfolio of the Libra Film production house financed via the European Union’s Media Program. The script also won international accolades, namely the Balkan Fund Wards at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival 2005, and received financing from Medienboard – Germany. The film had a budget of roughly 1.6 million Euros.
