Gov’t takes more cash from Treasury to pay EU works

The government ruled to take RON 500 M from the Treasury in order to cover the Q2 payments for the projects of the Sectoral Operational Programme ‘Increase of Economic Competitiveness’ (POS CCE), Mediafax reports. Out of the total sum extracted from the Treasury, from sums obtained by the state through privatisation operations, for POS CCE, RON 170 M will be used for payments related to the projects for April, RON 130 M for May and RON 200 M for June, according to a recent Government decision. Similar operations have been decided in the past too, for the Regional Operational Programme (POR) and the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development (POSDRU), following the depletion of the pre-financing provided by the European Commission. The general objective of POS CCE is getting the productivity of Romanian economic companies closer to the average productivity at EU level.
