Luca, the younger son of actor Florin Calinescu, took his own life on Monday, Mediafax reports. He was in Prague, taking part as an assistant producer to a short film, according to Realitatea TV. The reason remains unknown, with people close to the actor saying there was no signs suggesting that might happen, while other sources say he suffered from depression. According to gossip magazine “Cancan”, his fellow filmmakers found him hung in his room. Luca Calinescu was a film student at the John Moores University in Liverpool. After graduation, Luca Calinescu joined fellow film students in the making of Crossroads”, a short film shot in Prague. The dead body will be flown to Romania in the coming days.Luca’s elder brother, Petru Calinescu, is an accomplished musician. Along with his band, he performed at The Paul McCartney Auditorium, in Liverpool, receiving accolades from no other than the famous Beatle after whom the auditorium was named..This is not Florin Calinescu’s first brush with tragedy. Seven years ago, his wife died of throat cancer at 47.
