Cash for Clunkers and Green House programs could get stalled in 2012

The programs Cash for Clunkers and the Green House could be halted in 2012 on grounds of the Environmental Fund’s  lack of available money, Environment Minister Attila Korodi told a press conference. “This year, the environmental fund has a smaller budget this year, this is why we simply cannot supplement the funding allotted to the Cash for Clunkers Program, to give you one example. We have to finish this year’s program at the level allocated so far, since we don’t have more money available,” Korodi also said. The Cash for Clunkers 2012 Program started off less than one month ago, its funds able to deal with the scrappage of 30,000 old cars. Within this time interval, the costs have been covered for putting 11,927 cars out of use.
